Introduction:
Whitepine Watershed (WWC), is proposing an innovative low-head renewable energy project at the site of the former Milltown Mill. While the Mill has not been active for 50 years, and only parts of the former structure are visible, the infrastructure of the power generation is still there. We are proposing to use the existing infrastructure with our patented, “run of the river” technology, that is aimed at very low head sites, and is developed to deliver “what the river will give us”. In other words, we are planning to go back to the 1800’s and rehabilitate the site for green power with new, non-intrusive technology. Traditionally, the norm has been to adapt the river to suit the turbine technology. With our device, we adapt the technology to suit the river. We look forward to meeting with residents of the local community, and discussing the project. Please contact us with any questions or concerns. We welcome your input. |
